The World's Best Coffee

Coffee is at the heart of Starbucks history. Since 1971, our passion has been to excite and inspire you to enjoy the finest quality coffee available. Our commitment to this is the same today and we hope you share our passion as you begin to explore the world of coffee. Your adventure starts here...

At Starbucks, we sample coffees from around the world – more than 150,000 cups a year, in fact. We have to taste that many because we seek only the finest, richest and most interesting beans. Starbucks purchases only the finest, high altitude Arabica coffee beans available as they have a more refined flavour and quality than the more common Robusta beans.

Building relationships with farmers has ensured our success in having access to the highest quality coffee. We search for those who will bring the same passion to growing, harvesting and processing that Starbucks does to blending, roasting, packaging and brewing.  Passion equals attention to detail at every step of the journey.

So if you want to find the world’s best coffees for yourself, your journey begins here.

Explore coffees by flavor

What kind of coffee do you seek? A mild, lively cup? A rich, smooth taste? Or a bold, exotic adventure?

Explore coffees by flavor profile.

Explore coffees by region

As with wine, the land where a coffee is grown creates subtle flavor differences. We have coffees from America, Africa and the Pacific.

Each coffee is selected for the defining qualities that distinguish its region of origin. Indeed, also like wine, coffee is tasted in a certain way to discover its aroma, flavour, acidity and body.

Coffee can also be paired with complementary foods to bring out particular taste notes. This careful selection process demonstrates Starbucks passion for buying and roasting the world's best coffee.

Explore coffees by region

We have coffees from Latin America, Africa and the Pacific. The climate, geography and growing conditions of a region will give a coffee its own distinctive flavour. For example, coffee from Africa will typically display a sparkling citrus flavour whilst coffees from Sumatra have earthy herbal notes.  Explore coffees by growing region and discover just how geography really is a flavour...
