At Starbucks, we strive to become a great, enduring company by championing business practices that produce social, environmental and economic benefits for Starbucks communities globally. Starbucks focuses its efforts on improving social and economic conditions for coffee farmers; minimizing our environmental impact; making a positive contribution in the communities where we do business; Starbucks has developed partnerships with organizations that support the people and places that grow our coffee and tea, such as Conservation International.

From the beginning of its operation in Greece, Starbucks continues to contribute and support, in every way possible, the cause of Children's SOS Villages. From 2005, each Starbucks store has adopted a child of the SOS Children Villages, 56 children in total. Our youngest child is three years old and our eldest is eighteen years old. Each of our stores has adopted a child and the partners of each store plan outings with them and organize birthday parties for them. Partners communicate with the SOS mothers in order to arrange visits and outings with the children and learn about what would interest them to receive for personal gifts. The involvement depending of each partner becomes more personal with the child as the time goes by.

Moreover, at least twice a year we organize events for the children with the participation of our partners (i.e. Magician Performance and Party in the beginning of the school year, Theatrical Play at their premises before the Easter period, etc.). Funds are also donated specifically for each child's school supplies, athletic gear and clothes. Other and above, Starbucks provide job opportunities. Ut to date, 5 young people derived from the Villages have worked with us and today 2 young persons derived from the Villages are active Starbucks partners.

Over and above, during summer 2006, we produced a collective Starbucks T-shirt, featuring a painting from children of the SOS Villages that was sold in store, and a significant part of the cost was donated to the SOS Villages.

Starbucks also cooperates with the municipalities in which it does business in environmental and cultural areas. It participates in several events by offering coffee.
